So on the weekend my friend Jodie (who I grew up with since we were kids) gifted her sister a “pond in a pot” for her birthday. She posted in on facebook where I spotted it, and knew my kids would love this! Jodie has a landscape design company  (her facebook site here , and her website Landscape Designs by Jodie Munshaw here). So we met up with her this morning at a local greenhouse, and with Jodie’s advice and ideas we got everything we needed for our pond in a pot! This is such a great project for the kids as it is pretty easy to put together for them, and no large holes (being dug by dad) required!

We did buy 4 fish for the pond~and I am surprised they made it home with all the handling of the bag and turn taking with the kids. They are named Thomas, Percy, Princess, and King (in no particular order, but Mary does seem to know who is who)

He is so funny!!!

Everything we needed! We decided to place it in the garden!

Filling the pot

The water plants..

Putting in the water plants..

Putting in the fish~So funny, Adam trying to tickle them while Mary poured them..

Not sure how I am ever going to keep little hands out of the pond??!!

They LOVE it!!! It is also such a nice water feature in our garden (when dad gets home and fixes the pump!). Thank-you so much Jodie!!

~”After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music”~ Aldous Huxley

Liz was my bride from last winter. She was a stunning bride, she is gorgeous inside and out. She is also extremely talented and plays and teaches the violin {you can visit her facebook site here}. Ever since her wedding we have been chatting back and forth about doing some business shots for her. Then my mind started turning, and I started talking to other local women in business and the collaboration began.

I am not sure anyone else might have been such a great sport as Liz was. It was so cold and windy, but she pulled it off without effort, and my camera loves her. I do have to mention that her wedding was in February, and it was about -20 and a blizzard. We did her bridal portraits in the middle of a field with her in a strapless gown. She can do anything to get the shot!

It was such an amazing day ladies, and I can’t wait to collaborate with you again!!

I got together with C&D for their engagement session in downtown Barrie last weekend. I include engagement sessions with all of my wedding packages for many reasons, but it’s a great way to get to know the bride and groom while shooting before the wedding. I love that these two have been together for 10 years and I can’t wait to shoot their June wedding!!
