At the end of March we were feeling so sick of our cold snowy weather. Our babysitter Mary had spotted a photo that I had put up of my Mary in her Halloween costume, a red queen’s dress. All she had to say to me was “we should take some photos of Mary and I, as I have that same costume at home”. The wheels started turning. I had some late night chats with my creative friends, and a few days later  with help from my very creative friends Jenn of By Invitation Only and Michelle of Chellshots Photography we did a styled shoot. Into the woods. An escape from the “castle” for the day.

Once upon a time there were two friends who spent their whole day behind castle walls, learning everything they need to become royal princesses. They were both named Mary and they loved all things nature and outdoors. One snowy day they escaped from their castle and into the woods…..

They came across a tea party in the woods, where they stopped for a rest.

When they had finished their sweets and had decorated with hearts, they kept walking in the woods in search for some treasure….

Kylie and Myles just picked up their wedding photos and I can’t wait for them to see all of them! Seeing the venue for the first time was amazing! They got married in front of a barn in the middle of a grass air strip where they had their first kiss!! Their details were perfect. The weather was perfect. They are perfect.

I first met them last winter when we did their engagement photos on a hike through the Bruce Trail (in somewhat of a snow storm!). It was great! I loved getting to know them and hear their love story. They were made for each other.

(Sorry about the photo over-load, but there are so many perfect moments captured, and I would love to share them all! Here are a few to give you a glimpse of their day!)

Welcome to my new blog site, I hope you like what you see. As a photographer I love looking at other people’s blogs. I enjoy getting to know the personal side of the camera. If I was choosing a photographer I would want to know the person who I am trusting my most intimate moments and memories with. This is why I chose to change from my website to a blog site. I will be blogging regularly about my life, my photo sessions, new projects that I am working on, and of course providing sneak peeks for my clients. This is the place where you can come and get to know me, contact me, find out about your investment, see my work, and {hopefully} have a good laugh. I would love it if you leave me a comment from time to time. Its a learning process for me, so bare with me and thank-you for joining me on this journey.

Since this is about all things new, I will leave you with a photo I took of my son.

He turned one this week. He has been a huge inspiration for me in the past year of my photography journey. I did his cake smash for him on his birthday, and once he got his first taste of cake there was no turning back. Happy Birthday to my little man Adam xoxo
